About the Role
The candidate will serve as team lead, project manager, or discipline lead on planning, preliminary, and final design of BRT projects, coordinating with team members and supporting business development. Responsibilities include overseeing multidisciplinary teams to prepare calculations, drawings, multimodal street designs, conducting interdisciplinary reviews, developing cost estimates, authoring specifications, performing quality‑control reviews, contributing to budgets and schedules, and mentoring entry‑level engineers while working independently to deliver primary design elements. • Lead and manage BRT planning, preliminary, and final design projects. • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to produce engineering calculations, drawings, and visual aids. • Develop multimodal street designs and conduct interdisciplinary design reviews. • Prepare construction cost estimates and technical effort assessments. • Author technical specification sections and perform quality‑control reviews. • Contribute to engineering budget and schedule development. • Mentor and provide leadership to entry‑level engineers. • Ensure project delivery within budget and schedule with minimal supervision. • Prepare design reports, construction drawings, and collaborate with multi‑discipline teams.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with at least eight years of relevant experience (or equivalent), a Professional Engineering license, proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation/Power InRoads (or similar tools), roadway design experience, and BRT or Light Rail Transit design experience. US citizenship is required. Preferred qualifications are ten or more years of transportation design experience, two years in a similar leadership role, five years in engineering project management, ability to prepare design reports and construction drawings, collaboration with multi‑discipline teams, familiarity with local and national BRT/LRT standards, strong client relationships, excellent communication and writing skills, and experience leading business development efforts. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Professional Engineering license. • Demonstrate 8+ years of relevant experience and proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D or MicroStation/Power InRoads (or equivalent). • Possess roadway and BRT/LRT design experience; US citizenship required. • Preferred: 10+ years transportation design, 2+ years leadership, 5+ years project management. • Familiarity with local and national BRT/LRT standards and strong client relationships. • Excellent communication, writing, and business development skills.
