About the Role

The Project Surveyor is a supervisory and production role that supports the surveying team under the direction of a Senior Surveyor or Project Manager. On a task‑by‑task basis, the Project Surveyor leads survey analysts and technicians, coordinates with survey subconsultants, and manages internal project workflow to deliver assigned work, including CAD drafting, survey research, map preparation, legal description drafting, and support for engineering design teams. • Lead survey analysts and technicians on assigned tasks. • Coordinate survey subconsultants. • Prepare base maps, boundary/topographic, design, and ALTA/NSPS surveys. • Perform CAD drafting using AutoCAD Civil 3D. • Conduct survey research and analysis of records, assessor maps, title reports, and other documents. • Draft legal descriptions and plats. • Provide survey support to design engineering teams and other departments. • Assist with survey proposals by developing scopes and obtaining subconsultant estimates. • Perform quality control checks on CAD files, survey data, and deliverables. • Assist Contract City Surveyors with map and document plan checks. • Maintain organized digital project files, logs, and workflow documentation.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Civil Engineering, Geomatics, or equivalent experience. • 3–5+ years of survey office experience with CAD, survey research, and mapping. • Land Surveyor‑in‑Training certification or Professional Land Surveyor license (preferred). • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D. • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Bluebeam (preferred). • Strong analytical, geometric computation, and technical writing skills. • Ability to manage tasks independently while working under licensed supervision. • Effective communication skills with internal teams and subconsultants.
