Maintain and repair diesel trucks and equipment on night shift at WM

About the Role
Each day you will maintain and repair the trucks and equipment that serve over 20 million customers nationwide, using modern tools on both diesel and CNG fleets. The job demands a high level of skill and determination to deliver exceptional vehicle maintenance. The role involves frequent lifting, standing, and moving in environments that may include dirt, noise, chemicals, and extreme weather, both indoors and outdoors. All tasks must comply with corporate and OSHA safety standards. • Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems • Estimate time and material costs for repairs and parts • Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs) • Respond to emergency service calls and breakdowns • Conduct safety checks on vehicles • Complete paperwork documenting parts usage and labor • Assist senior mechanics on project work • Review and address repairs from Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports • Maintain a clean, safe work area complying with OSHA standards

What You Bring
Applicants must have at least two years of relevant experience, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and be legally authorized to work in the United States. Physical ability, age over 18, and successful completion of a drug screen and physical exam are also required. Candidates may be required to travel by air; therefore a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative is required for this position. • Minimum 2 years relevant diesel mechanic experience • Valid driver’s license with clean record • Age 18+ and legally authorized to work in the U.S. • Ability to meet physical job demands (lifting, standing, etc.) • Pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam • Able to work independently when required • Strong problem‑solving attitude • Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, climbing • Constant standing, walking, grasping; occasional sitting/balancing • Exposure to cuts, burns, chemicals, dirt, odors, noise, and extreme weather • Work performed indoors (garage/shop) and outdoors in inclement conditions
