About the Role
The role includes designing concrete, steel, wood, and mass‑timber structures for residential, institutional, and commercial projects, performing structural retrofits and resiliency assessments, and utilizing advanced modeling techniques and BIM tools. • Perform structural analysis using tools such as ETABS, RAM Structural System, SAP, and Perform3D. • Prepare technical reports, calculations, 2D/3D illustrations, and visualizations for client presentations. • Verify site load conditions and develop mitigation plans for environmental and human influences. • Assist in creating and implementing site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). • Collaborate with engineers, authorities, and contractors on federal, state, and local projects.

What You Bring
WSP is seeking an early‑career structural engineer to join its San Diego office, working under the supervision of a Professional Engineer and contributing to the design of new and existing structures. Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in structural or civil engineering, have 0‑1 years of relevant experience, understand seismic design and finite element analysis, and be proficient with design software and technical communication. • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering. • 0–1 year post‑education experience with knowledge of seismic design, ductility, and material mechanics. • Basic proficiency in linear and non‑linear finite element analysis and performance‑based design. • Familiarity with sustainability practices and hazardous substance reduction. • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and other discipline‑specific design software. • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and self‑leadership abilities. • Master’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering (preferred). • Engineer-in‑Training (EIT) certification (preferred). • Relevant internship experience (preferred). • 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and basic First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
