About the Role
The Director of Operations reports to the Co‑President and leads construction, estimating, and customer service functions across all active communities. This senior leadership position aligns day‑to‑day execution with long‑term strategy, collaborating with sales, marketing, health & safety, and finance to meet market demand, safety standards, and financial goals while ensuring accountability within Operations. • Drive operational strategy to support growth, profitability, and sustainability. • Lead and hold accountable Construction, Estimating, and Customer Service teams. • Oversee residential construction across all active communities, ensuring schedule, quality, and close‑out standards. • Manage estimating practices to achieve accurate costing, margin targets, and executable build plans. • Align construction delivery and customer service for a consistent high‑quality homeowner experience. • Negotiate and manage subcontractor agreements, oversee contract lifecycle, and resolve trade disputes. • Conduct site visits focusing on performance, risk, safety compliance, and standard consistency. • Implement continuous‑improvement initiatives through performance monitoring and corrective actions. • Partner with Finance on budgeting, forecasting, and operational financial planning; identify and mitigate cost, schedule, and scope risks. • Collaborate with Sales to match operational capacity with sales strategies and delivery timelines. • Work with Marketing to ensure operational execution supports brand and product commitments. • Support Health & Safety compliance and proactive risk management. • Provide coaching, development, and performance management for operational leaders; foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

What You Bring
• Hold a degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field; 10‑15 years progressive residential construction experience, including senior operational leadership. • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple communities, interpret operational and financial data, and work at both strategic and operational levels. • Professional designations such as P.Eng., Gold Seal, PMP, or LEED are strong assets.
