About the Role
• Lead a technical specialist team to deliver projects securely, on time, within budget and to high standards. • Serve as a trusted advisor to internal and external clients and manage relationships. • Advise on UK and Ireland land issues, including statutory processes such as DCOs, DNOs, hybrid Bills, Scottish Bills, TWA, T&CPA, CPOs, Motorway Orders and Vesting Orders. • Secure land rights for high‑profile strategic infrastructure projects across all sectors. • Liaise with landowners, agents, legal representatives, planning authorities, stakeholders, contractors and clients. • Collaborate with Land, engineering, environmental and planning teams within WSP and project supply chains. • Lead quality assurance of deliverables related to land interests, rights, access negotiations, consents and planning applications. • Promote WSP services and contribute to business development across energy, highway, rail, water, local government and aviation sectors. • Share knowledge and lessons across regions and projects to support quality improvement. • Develop efficient practices and drive innovation to provide industry‑leading, best‑value services. • Ensure the team has the skills and resources needed to deliver successful projects and grow the business. • Manage, motivate, mentor and develop staff as a leader and role model. • Contribute to writing bids/tenders to secure opportunities from internal and external clients. • Deliver training on technical topics through the CPD‑accredited Land Academy.

What You Bring
We are looking for expertise in urban and/or rural environments, property, communities and stakeholders, and a proven industry reputation in working on infrastructure development schemes with multi‑disciplinary teams. Experience negotiating commercial terms with landowners, knowledge of the legal process for acquiring wayleaves and easements, and a track record of reducing land risk for clients are essential. You should have demonstrable experience developing orders, acquiring consents and interests in land, strong influencing and negotiating skills, and the ability to work under pressure while delivering high‑quality outputs. A degree in Geography, Land/Estate Management, Agriculture or similar is required; chartership or professional membership is desirable. • Travel across the UK and Ireland, with possible trips to the Global Capability Centre in India.
