Lead and deliver UK environmental projects, managing scope, budgets, schedules and teams

About the Role
You will lead smaller projects independently while collaborating with senior managers on larger programmes, providing opportunities for mentorship, line‑management and contribution to team strategy. • Develop project proposals, defining scope, resources, schedule and cost estimates. • Prepare and maintain project management documentation (plans, budgets, risk registers, schedules, stakeholder registers). • Monitor and control project schedules, staff hours, budgets and expenditures. • Ensure health and safety information and internal approvals for site visits are in place. • Manage contracts and administer contractual obligations. • Oversee change and risk management, ensuring governance compliance. • Lead, mentor and develop multidisciplinary environmental project teams and suppliers. • Promote delivery of environmental betterment and net‑zero strategies. • Represent WSP’s Environment and Consents function with clients, stakeholders and internal teams.

What You Bring
• Proven experience as an Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager, preferably in environment or sustainability. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Working knowledge of programme management, WBS, dependencies and tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6. • Solid commercial, contractual and financial acumen; experience with NEC3/4 contracts advantageous. • Membership (or working towards) a professional institution such as PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA or MRICS.
