About the Role

Key duties include resolving issues related to plans and specifications, managing the project budget through the change‑order process, and ensuring timely release of materials and equipment to meet the construction schedule. The role also involves supervising submittals and shop drawings, negotiating change orders, overseeing the close‑out process, and providing leadership to staff such as assistant engineers and interns. Additionally, the incumbent prepares scope of work documents, develops condition logs, and coordinates meetings for trade and pre‑construction activities. • Resolve plan and specification issues with architects, subcontractors, and consultants to prevent delays. • Manage project budget and change orders, reconciling productivity and time‑recording data. • Ensure timely release and delivery of materials and equipment per construction schedule. • Collect invoices, develop pay applications, and verify trade partner time sheets. • Prepare and distribute schedules, scope details, and construction information to stakeholders. • Oversee submittals, shop drawings, and assess conformance to contract specifications. • Negotiate and document change orders, performing quantity analysis and cost verification. • Lead close‑out activities, compiling RFIs, warranties, as‑builts, O&M manuals, and spare parts. • Supervise and evaluate staff, approve timesheets, and contribute to performance appraisals. • Develop scope of work documents, General Conditions items, and quality control reports. • Schedule and facilitate meetings for trade coordination, pre‑construction, and submittal reviews. • Utilize BIM and lean construction technologies to improve project delivery.

What You Bring

The position is based in the Dallas Main division, located in Dallas, TX. It is a regular, salaried exempt role classified as experienced, requiring a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of four years of related experience. The primary purpose is to manage, evaluate, and assess information necessary to construct project scope on time, within budget, and to the quality specified by contract documents. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited program and possess at least four years of construction experience, or an equivalent blend of education and training. Required competencies include reading and interpreting contract documents, strong negotiation skills, proficiency with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and lean methodologies, and effective written and verbal communication. Leadership, interpersonal relationship building, and advanced computer and MS Office skills are also essential. The position requires regular sitting, standing, walking, and occasional climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to perform tasks requiring close and distance vision, color perception, and depth perception. The work environment may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noise levels.
