About the Role

• Support program-level delivery of municipal water and wastewater capital and small projects. • Independently manage moderately complex projects from planning through closeout, overseeing scope, schedule, budget, and risk. • Provide owner‑side project management support including controls, scheduling, cost tracking, estimating, procurement coordination, and change management. • Direct and coordinate AECOM technical staff, subconsultants, and other resources. • Interface with OC San project managers, engineers, operations staff, and leadership. • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, resolving issues to protect cost, schedule, and quality. • Review and ensure quality of design calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical documents. • Prepare project documentation such as reports, meeting minutes, schedules, and status updates. • Support construction coordination, handling RFIs, submittals, and issue resolution. • Mentor mid‑ and junior‑level engineers or project managers as needed.

What You Bring

AECOM Water is seeking an experienced Project Manager to support the Orange County Sanitation District’s Capital and Small Projects Program. The hybrid role reports to the OC San Fountain Valley office 2‑3 days a week and works remotely otherwise, providing program‑level project management for multiple water and wastewater capital and small projects. The position requires strong municipal water/wastewater expertise, owner‑side delivery experience, and the ability to manage several projects and stakeholders simultaneously. • Bachelor’s degree in civil or related engineering and at least six years water/wastewater experience. • Professional Engineer registration (California preferred or obtainable within six months). • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass motor vehicle records review. • Strong written and oral communication, quantitative, and interpersonal skills; proactive work ethic. • Proficiency with CAD and design software (Civil 3D, Bentley, Water CAD, Sewer CAD, ArcGIS).
