About the Role
The Payroll Tax Analyst oversees the administration of all payroll tax activities for the company and its subsidiaries, including tax filings, payments, and employee tax setup. This role supports the preparation and delivery of W-2 forms for roughly 10,000 U.S. and Puerto Rico associates and retirees, ensuring adherence to all applicable local, state, federal, and foreign tax laws. Core responsibilities include validating payroll tax returns, maintaining compliance with statutory withholding regulations, researching complex tax scenarios, and driving process improvements through root-cause analysis. The analyst also supports quarter- and year-end processing, manages wage adjustments, maintains Oracle tax tables, and provides reporting for audits, mergers, and acquisitions. • Validate and oversee timely payroll tax returns for the company and subsidiaries. • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax withholding, labor, and payroll regulations. • Research and resolve unique tax situations. • Identify, document, and implement process improvements using root-cause analysis. • Prepare and distribute accurate W-2 forms and other required filings. • Support quarter-end and year-end processing, managing all tasks to deliver employee W-2s. • Process wage and tax adjustments, including preparation of W-2c corrections. • Generate payroll tax-related reports and respond to wage inquiries. • Maintain Oracle tax tables with correct rates and perform testing/validation of updates. • Apply knowledge of tax reporting requirements to support mergers and acquisitions. • Enter employee W-4 changes into the system. • Assist with audit information requests. • Maintain high attention to detail.

Applicants should hold at least an associate degree in accounting or business, with a preference for a bachelor’s degree, and possess a minimum of one year of functional payroll tax experience. Experience with HCM/payroll systems—particularly Oracle HCM/Payroll and ADP Smart Compliance—and a solid grasp of payroll tax regulations are essential, alongside strong analytical, communication, and detail-orientation skills. The role involves regular standing, walking, and verbal communication, and requires adherence to company safety rules and policies.
