About the Role
• Manage craft labor and subcontractors on site. • Review weekly labor reports and address issues. • Approve craft worker certifications and training. • Conduct site orientation, safety meetings, and first‑hour briefing. • Process craft worker timecards. • Participate in hiring and dismissal of craft workers. • Coordinate on‑site operations, equipment, labor, and schedule. • Guide setup, work‑in‑place, and project closeout/demobilization activities. • Assist Project Managers with schedule development and updates. • Liaise with equipment providers for cranes, trailers, trucks, etc. • Verify quantity takeoffs and material management during buyout. • Manage Production and Innovation Boards and Plan of Day activities. • Support safety audits and worker observations. • Ensure quality control of self‑performed and subcontracted work. • Oversee orientation, training, performance evaluations, and management of craft workers.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Assistant Superintendent to coordinate and supervise subcontractors and craft team members within a specific construction discipline. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position, and postings typically remain open for a minimum of five days and an average of 44 days. The company reserves the right to hire without legal or financial obligation to unsolicited agencies and requires candidates to be currently authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil/Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience. • Minimum 3 years of construction management or related experience. • Valid driver’s license. • Interest in or completion of Master, Journeyman, or Apprentice electrician program preferred. • Qualified in electrical circuitry or able to become qualified with Mortenson Electrical Managers. • Ability to manage development to closeout for multiple complex projects. • Strong organizational and multitasking skills. • Basic knowledge of construction law and business practices. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, project software, and web applications. • Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills. • Excellent communication, active listening, and openness to feedback. • Ability to travel up to 100%. • Understanding of EEOC, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans.
