What You Bring
The role is for an Electrical Supervisor experienced in constructing Substation HV Switchyards, working on projects across NSW in both metro and regional areas. You will lead small teams of electricians and sub‑contractors on brownfield transmission sub‑station work, planning daily activities, maintaining diaries, and acting as the primary client liaison. The position requires an outcome-driven approach, the ability to motivate crews, and a strong commitment to Downer’s Zero Harm safety culture, with rostered travel and on‑site living arrangements. Candidates must hold a NSW‑recognised electrical trade qualification and have proven supervisory experience in substation switchyard environments. Required expertise includes primary HV switchyard construction such as earth grid, structure, switchgear and primary connections, plus secondary protection, control, communications and SCADA installations. Strong communication and leadership skills, together with an unwavering commitment to zero-harm safety, are essential. • Hold a NSW‑registered electrical trade qualification • Proven supervisory experience in substation switchyard environments • Expertise in HV construction, earth grid, structures, switchgear, primary connections, and SCADA systems • Strong communication and leadership skills with a commitment to zero harm
