About the Role
The Field Performance Technician III is responsible for advanced troubleshooting and complex service diagnosis while also training and developing other field performance team members. The role requires holding a state‑required electrical certification and involves coordinating warranty and service schedules. Key duties include organizing and maintaining warranty and service schedules, working with the Electrical Foreman, Construction Supervisor and Branch Manager to allocate labor resources, and leading regular meetings to align the local field service team on best practices. The technician supports onboarding of new team members, regularly exceeds KPIs such as turnaround time and dispatch volume, and assists with inspections and site audits as needed. • Manage warranty and service schedules. • Coordinate labor resources with foreman, supervisor, and branch manager. • Conduct regular training meetings for the field service team. • Facilitate onboarding and mentorship of new performance technicians. • Perform advanced troubleshooting and complex service diagnoses on solar systems. • Execute inspections, site audits, and related tasks as assigned. • Read and interpret single‑line drawings and PV designs in line with NEC standards. • Deliver high‑quality customer service and clear communication. • Enforce safety protocols, identify hazards, and promote safe practices. • Apply logical problem‑solving, take ownership of issues, and escalate when needed.

What You Bring
Applicants must have at least three years of field construction experience, including a minimum of one year as a solar service technician, and a high‑school diploma. A valid state or local Electrical Journeyman license (or equivalent) is required, and PV design or electrical experience is preferred. The successful candidate demonstrates strong knowledge of the NEC and related codes, can interpret single‑line drawings, and understands PV system interconnections and basic construction principles. Excellent customer service, verbal and written communication, organization, time‑management, and computer skills are essential, as is a safety‑first mindset. The position demands physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 lb frequently (100 lb with assistance), work on rooftops, climb ladders, and operate in various weather conditions. Workers must also navigate confined spaces, use fine motor skills, and adhere to personal protective equipment requirements. • Achieve or exceed KPIs for turnaround time, experience rating, and dispatches. • Utilize strong organizational, time‑management, and computer skills. • Meet physical requirements: lift up to 50 lb regularly, work on rooftops, climb ladders, and handle diverse weather conditions. • Hold a valid Electrical Journeyman license or equivalent certification. • Bring at least three years of field construction experience and one year of solar service experience. • Possess a high‑school diploma; PV design or electrical background preferred.
