Job Highlights
About the Role
• Design and analyze arch, beam, cantilever, suspension, cable‑stayed, tied‑arch, and truss bridges for road, highway, and transit projects in New England. • Perform complex engineering calculations, material quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, surveys, and detailed designs. • Extract engineering data from CAD drawings and produce construction‑ready drawings, specifications, and procurement documents. • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and other departments throughout project phases. • Prepare equipment and material requisitions and review supplier submittals, conducting technical bid analyses. • Issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents while ensuring compliance with codes and regulations. • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to CAD designers, junior designers, and entry‑level engineers. • Apply professional engineer seal and signature as required, guaranteeing adherence to applicable standards. • Advise senior management on engineering matters and promote continuous quality improvement and innovation.

What You Bring
Parsons is seeking a Senior Bridge Engineer to join its rapidly expanding bridge groups in Boston, MA or Hartford, CT. The role involves working on large‑scale projects that reshape the urban fabric of communities across New England, within a highly flexible, team‑oriented environment that demands strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills. • Possess 8+ years of relevant bridge engineering experience and a BS in Civil Engineering with a structural focus (MS preferred). • Hold or be eligible for Professional Engineer (PE) registration; knowledge of state bridge design manuals is highly desirable. • Demonstrate proficiency with MS Office, bridge design and analysis software, and AutoCAD or MicroStation. • Exhibit strong organizational, planning, leadership, and emotional‑intelligence skills.
