About the Role
The San Diego‑based Site Quality Manager will lead the introduction of new hardware into production, building a quality‑control function from scratch, and ensuring designs, processes, and documentation meet ISO‑based standards throughout the product development lifecycle. The role requires close collaboration with engineering, manufacturing, supply‑chain and operations teams, applying risk analysis, supplier quality strategies, and continuous‑improvement practices to support low‑rate production and ramp‑up. • Participate in all NPI phases, including design reviews, process development, validation, and pilot builds • Create quality plans, inspection criteria, control strategies, and test methods in partnership with engineering • Build and scale Quality Control processes to support low‑rate initial production and ramp‑up • Conduct FMEA, DFMEA, and PFMEA risk analyses and track mitigation actions • Partner with cross‑functional teams to identify issues, drive resolution, and improve the NPI process • Embed quality requirements into product and process design across design, manufacturing, and supply‑chain • Develop and execute a supplier quality assurance strategy and supporting processes • Review and approve first‑article inspections, PPAP packages, qualification builds, and validation reports • Lead root‑cause analyses and manage corrective and preventive actions for NPI quality issues • Implement statistical process control and capability studies to ensure process stability • Provide training, mentorship, and quality guidance to engineering and operations teams

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Electrical, or related engineering • 8+ years of progressive experience in quality engineering or manufacturing; 10+ years preferred • U.S. citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance (ITAR compliance) • Proven experience with NPI, product lifecycle change management, FMEAs, control plans, PPAP, and ISO 9001/AS9100/IATF 16949 systems • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and root‑cause analysis skills; knowledge of GD&T and DFMA • Familiarity with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and U.S. government acquisition regulations • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Costpoint ERP and Arena PLM is a plus
