About the Role

The Material Specialist (Airfield) will manage, monitor, and control construction materials for a major airport airfield and runway development project. The role focuses on material approvals, testing, compliance, and coordination to ensure all materials meet project specifications, aviation authority standards, and quality requirements, leveraging at least five years of experience in materials engineering, preferably on airport or large‑scale infrastructure projects. • Review and process material submittals according to project specifications and approved standards. • Ensure construction materials comply with ICAO/FAA regulations and ASTM/AASHTO standards. • Coordinate material approvals with consultants, contractors, and suppliers. • Manage field and laboratory testing for soils, aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and other civil materials. • Evaluate test results against approved mix designs and specifications. • Identify non‑conforming materials and support corrective and preventive actions. • Approve concrete and asphalt mix designs in partnership with QA/QC teams. • Monitor batching plant operations to maintain consistency with approved designs. • Support trial mixes, mock‑ups, and pre‑production testing activities. • Maintain material tracking logs, test registers, and approval records. • Prepare technical reports, material compliance summaries, and regular status updates. • Ensure material handling, storage, and testing comply with HSE and environmental requirements.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum five years of experience in materials engineering or quality control, preferably on airport, airfield, runway, or highway projects. • Strong knowledge of construction materials, including soil, aggregate, asphalt, and concrete, and familiarity with ASTM, AASHTO, BS, and aviation standards. • Experience with laboratory and field testing procedures, mix design analysis, and QA/QC documentation (ITPs, NCRs). • Proficiency in MS Office, technical reporting, and document control systems such as Aconex. • Certifications in materials testing or quality management are advantageous.
