About the Role
The Assembly position is responsible for performing a variety of diversified sub and light to medium duty final assembly operations on our overhead switchgear product line. In this role, you will perform some complicated sub‑assembly and final assembly operations, which contain a large number of parts and substantial fitting and aligning of components, usually limited to a specific standard procedure on a repetitive basis. Key processes can include coil winding, epoxy potting, painting, and varnishing. In this function you will follow established working procedures, set up workstations to facilitate easier assembly, and operate independently or on a group basis. You will complete paperwork, enter labor data, confirm production, and move products to the outgoing materials zone. Additionally, you will screen defective parts, make adjustments as necessary, and report concerns to the Team Leader or Supervisor, while interacting with other departments for advice and decisions and assisting QA/Engineering with problem solving for new product development. • Perform sub‑assembly and final assembly of overhead switchgear, including coil winding, epoxy potting, painting, and varnishing. • Follow standard procedures, set up workstations, and work independently or in teams. • Complete production paperwork, enter labor data, and move finished products to the outgoing materials zone. • Inspect parts, make adjustments, and report issues to Team Leader or Supervisor. • Collaborate with other departments and assist QA/Engineering on new product development problems.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and a minimum of one year of experience in a manufacturing environment (six months acceptable for certain related experiences). Trades training—or equivalent—in soldering, brazing, electronic terminology, symbols, and electrical circuits is required, as is the ability to read blueprints and drawings. Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP and flexibility to perform multiple job functions are also expected. Physical requirements include the ability to walk or stand for an eight‑hour shift and to lift, push, or pull up to 48 lb, with or without reasonable accommodation.
