About the Role

The Buildings & Places team in Sydney is hiring a Senior Fire Safety Engineer to provide deep technical expertise in fire engineering, leading large‑scale projects from concept through occupation. The role involves managing client relationships across multiple markets and developing performance‑based fire engineering strategies for a wide range of buildings and infrastructure. • Provide technical fire engineering expertise from first principles to project delivery. • Lead large‑scale fire engineering projects from concept through building occupation. • Manage project and client relationships across diverse market sectors. • Develop performance‑based fire engineering strategies for various building and infrastructure types. • Mentor and develop team members, supporting professional accreditation where appropriate.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates have at least five years of fire safety engineering experience, a relevant engineering qualification—preferably in fire engineering—and strong knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and Australian Fire Engineering Guidelines. Experience leading fire engineering projects, negotiating with approval authorities, and preparing performance‑based design briefs and reports is essential. • Minimum 5 years experience as a Fire Safety Engineer. • Engineering degree (preferably fire engineering) with strong knowledge of the Building Code of Australia and Australian Fire Engineering Guidelines. • Proven track record of leading fire engineering projects and negotiating with approval authorities. • Experience preparing Performance Based Design Briefs, Fire Engineering Reports and Strategies.
