About the Role
The UK MOD Enterprise Lead will spearhead strategic business development, building key relationships with targeted MOD clients, pre‑positioning AECOM for major strategic pursuits, leading capture management with work‑winning teams, and maintaining regular stakeholder engagement. Leadership responsibilities include providing direction for UK MOD Enterprise accounts, ensuring effective internal stakeholder relationships across business units, end markets, and commercial teams, and building effective ties with AECOM’s global defence counterparts. The role also sets and implements account business strategies, objectives, and financial outcomes. Sales and growth duties involve shaping the regional defence growth strategy, defining targets, prioritising pursuits, and collaborating with the Defence Leadership Team and Operating Unit Leaders. The incumbent will drive business development, win strategic contracts, manage the sales pipeline, stay abreast of defence and security challenges, coordinate team formation for major pursuits, and work with Marketing on strategic campaigns. • Lead UK MOD Enterprise accounts and coordinate with the Defence Leadership Team. • Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders and external MOD clients. • Develop and execute regional defence growth and business development strategy. • Drive capture management, team formation, and Go/No Go processes for major pursuits. • Manage the sales pipeline, identify and prioritize UK MOD opportunities. • Collaborate with Marketing to create and launch strategic marketing campaigns. • Secure $5‑$20 million consulting contracts and navigate MOD frameworks. • Obtain or maintain UK Security Clearance (SC) and potentially Developed Vetting. • Travel regularly to London and other UK offices as required.

What You Bring
The role is a senior Defence leadership position reporting to the Head of Defence UK, Europe & India and working closely with defence sector leaders across business lines. The successful candidate must hold an active UK Security Clearance or be able to obtain one, with support for Developed Vetting if required, and will travel regularly to London and other UK offices. The ideal candidate is an outstanding leader with extensive senior‑level UK MOD experience in a fast‑paced commercial environment, possessing strong strategic acumen, customer engagement, business insight, and emotional intelligence to navigate a complex client ecosystem. Required experience includes senior‑level roles in infrastructure advisory or comparable consulting/engineering firms selling into defence, deep knowledge of UK defence departments, agencies, frameworks, and major OEMs, a proven record of securing $5‑20 million consulting contracts and operating within MOD frameworks, and a robust network of senior MOD and OEM stakeholders. Demonstrated sales metrics, business development strategy, team leadership, and value‑proposition creation are essential. • Demonstrate senior‑level UK MOD experience with strong customer engagement skills.
