About the Role
The manager will conduct technical reviews of scope of work, develop commissioning specifications, plans, checklists, and test procedures for collection and control systems, and lead field visits to observe inspections and functional performance tests. They will draft technical documentation, resolve issues, conduct training, and coordinate across disciplines to address commissioning challenges. In partnership with the scope team and Project Manager, they will verify scope intent, maintain collaborative relationships, and oversee system testing—including NETA, SCADA, and controls—for mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life‑safety systems. • Review scope of work and provide technical comments. • Develop commissioning specifications, plans, checklists, and tests for collection and control systems. • Lead field visits and supervise commissioning inspections and functional performance tests. • Create and manage commissioning schedules and documentation, including issue resolutions and final reports. • Conduct training, coordinate construction disciplines, and resolve commissioning issues with contractors. • Collaborate with scope team and Project Manager to verify scope intent and maintain relationships. • Plan and execute system tests (NETA, SCADA, controls) for mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and life safety systems.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline or possess ten years of equivalent field experience, along with at least six years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP contractor or commissioning firm. Required knowledge includes construction documents, QA/QC processes, power purchase agreements, applicable design codes, and the L0‑L5 commissioning process. Strong communication, leadership, problem‑solving, and teamwork skills, as well as proficiency with Microsoft Office, project‑management tools, and data‑driven commissioning platforms such as BIM360, are essential. • Require up to 50 % travel and do not provide visa sponsorship.

Benefits
The position offers a base salary ranging from $125,600 to $188,400, with higher ranges for selected locations, and eligibility for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
