About the Role
The Deputy / Program Director role focuses on K‑12 projects in Georgia, overseeing the Education Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (E‑SPLOST) Capital Improvement Program and supporting a public school district serving 40,000 students across more than 70 facilities. This position reports to the Deputy Program Director and collaborates closely with design consultants, contractors, and agency partners. • Oversee design and permitting for assigned projects. • Coordinate project requirements with third‑party agencies. • Manage design consultants and construction‑manager deliverables. • Provide input for the Monthly Program Report on status and issues. • Review and recommend approval of construction delivery proposals. • Evaluate and recommend changes to design consultants or contractor scopes. • Resolve review comments and manage deliverable reviews with consultants. • Review and recommend bulletins and change orders. • Lead progress meetings and chair design review sessions as needed. • Participate in weekly Project Coordination and Owner‑Architect‑Contractor meetings. • Review contractor Requests for Information (RFI) and advise on Errors & Omissions. • Monitor project scope, budget, schedule, and quality; report deviations. • Manage corrective actions and oversee design and construction support activities. • Collaborate with consultants on evaluations, studies, reports, and alternatives. • Manage technical and administrative support staff assigned to the Project Manager. • Evaluate architects/engineers and contractors; provide primary consulting services. • Assess and manage client risk; resolve schedule or cost impacts. • Ensure compliance with personal protective equipment requirements. • Perform occasional field tasks in outdoor environments with variable conditions.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in engineering, construction management, architecture, or a related field and have at least eight years of relevant experience, including two years in senior project management. Experience with Georgia K‑12 programs, GADOE, and construction management of educational facilities is required, along with U.S. citizenship, background checks, and drug screening. Preferred qualifications include 10+ years in vertical construction, CCM or PMP certification, and OSHA 30‑Hour training.
