About the Role
The Maintenance Technician B reports to a Lead Technician, Maintenance Supervisor, or Maintenance Manager and performs repair and maintenance on diesel and non‑diesel equipment and trucks. Responsibilities include work on chassis components, vehicle refuse bodies, hydraulic and electrical control systems, air‑brake systems, engines, HVAC, suspension, drivetrain, and steering systems. The role also covers basic tire tasks such as replacement, rotation, and tread‑depth checks, while providing support for a single fleet of state‑of‑the‑art vehicles. Key duties involve preventative and corrective maintenance of chassis, refuse bodies, engine, suspension, drivetrain, steering, and HVAC systems, as well as line‑maintenance welding and fabrication. Technicians safely deliver road service when needed, diagnose malfunctions using electronic tools, and complete required company training. Additional tasks are performed as assigned.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least one year of experience diagnosing and repairing gasoline and diesel equipment, or be a recent graduate of an accredited automotive program. A basic understanding of work‑order labor standards and familiarity with heavy‑truck systems—suspensions, steering, engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, hydraulics, drivetrain, and diesel emissions—is required. ASE certifications, a commercial driver’s license, and a valid driver’s license are preferred but not mandatory.
