About the Role

The role is a full-time traveling Superintendent supporting Advanced Technology projects across Data Center, Pharmaceutical, Industrial/Manufacturing, and EV/Battery/Renewables market segments. It is located in Austin, TX and falls under Turner’s Critical Facilities – Data Centers division. The position is salaried exempt, classified as experienced, and reports to the Project Superintendent, Project Manager, or MEP Manager. The Superintendent leads and coordinates subcontractors and Turner trade labor for electrical systems, ensuring safety, schedule, quality, and budget compliance. Responsibilities include directing Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, interns, and trade crews, managing site safety programs, and overseeing billing, estimates, and payment applications. The role also involves creating work schedules, recovery strategies, and maintaining detailed daily records of MEPS trade progress. Additional duties cover communication with owners, architects, and engineers to resolve field issues; coordination of mechanical and electrical designs using BIM and 3‑D models; and leading inspections, commissioning, turnover, and punch‑list activities. The Superintendent participates in pre‑construction tasks such as constructability reviews and logistics planning, and ensures subcontractor compliance with codes and Turner standards. • Lead and coordinate subcontractors and Turner trade labor for all electrical systems. • Ensure site safety compliance with Turner standards and applicable codes. • Manage scheduling, logistics, quality control, and staffing levels across trades. • Supervise and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Engineers, and interns. • Create work schedules, sequencing, and recovery strategies to maintain timeline and budget. • Communicate with owners, architects, and engineers to resolve field issues. • Oversee billing, monthly estimates, payroll, material invoices, and subcontractor payments. • Coordinate mechanical and electrical designs using BIM/3‑D models and secure stakeholder approvals. • Lead inspections, commissioning, startup, turnover, and punch‑list processes. • Participate in pre‑construction activities such as constructability reviews and logistics planning. • Maintain detailed daily records of MEPS trade progress.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include a bachelor’s degree or four years of formal engineering/architectural experience plus at least six years of MEP construction experience, or an equivalent blend of education and training. Candidates must possess knowledge of building construction, scheduling, cost control, mechanical/electrical systems, BIM coordination, and strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to interpret contract documents, drawings, and specifications are essential, as are demonstrated leadership and interpersonal abilities. The job demands physical abilities such as climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 75 lb, and working in noisy, high‑hazard construction environments with exposure to mechanical parts, fumes, weather, and electrical shock risk.
