About the Role

The Deputy Project Manager is responsible for comprehensive document management, generating pre‑construction and inspection documents, maintaining both paper and electronic files, and applying quality‑assurance guidelines. This role also supports contracts and sub‑contracts, coordinates meetings and presentations, ensures professional client interactions, and works closely with multiple project managers and teams. Additional duties include end‑to‑end execution of federal construction projects, supervising project coordinators, reviewing engineering plans for regulatory compliance, preparing solicitation documentation, and participating in construction planning and field activities such as site management and inspection. The role also involves creating sketches, modifying design specifications, and applying engineering knowledge to ensure complete project requirements. • Compose, type, format, proofread, edit and organize documents, reports, specifications and correspondence • Generate pre‑construction/inspection documents such as QC Plans, Work Plans, and Health & Safety Plans • Create and maintain paper and electronic files • Apply company quality‑assurance guidelines for project document management • Prepare, organize, and assist with contracts and sub‑contracts • Coordinate meetings and support presentations • Collaborate with multiple Project Managers and project teams • Maintain standardized invoice procedures across contracts • Develop and maintain KPI dashboards (utilization, bookings, margin performance, CPAR/PPQ ratings) • Provide monthly rollups for senior leadership and client‑facing performance reviews • Support CPAR/PPQ package preparation with accurate data and formatting • Manage staff requisition tracking, including approvals, timelines, and onboarding logistics • Coordinate with HR and recruiters to align with staffing plans • Monitor subcontractor requisitions, task orders, and labor‑category compliance • Maintain contract deliverable trackers (CDRLs), deadlines, and quality‑assurance files • Support internal audits by ensuring organized, compliant project documentation • Identify inefficiencies and propose streamlined systems to reduce project‑manager overhead • Execute federal construction projects end‑to‑end and supervise project coordinators • Review engineering plans and specifications for federal and state compliance • Prepare documentation for solicitation through the base contracting office • Participate in construction planning, gathering field data and assessing facilities and utilities • Produce sketches and layouts for drawing preparation • Develop modification/alteration design specifications considering existing conditions • Apply engineering methods, techniques, architecture, and historical data to ensure complete requirements • Perform field activities as Site Manager, Construction Inspector, or SSHO as needed

What You Bring

Preferred qualifications feature a Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering or equivalent experience, proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, PMP certification, Air Force experience, and certifications such as API 653, API 570, AMPP Coatings Inspection, and AMPP Cathodic Protection.
