About the Role
Interns will support integration and testing activities, performing field work, making change modifications to designs, and providing troubleshooting and maintenance for Communication‑Based Train Control (CBTC) equipment such as vehicle and wayside systems. They will also assist in preparing test documentation and formal reports. The role includes on‑site installation and maintenance of wayside equipment, following customer‑driven procedures, identifying and correcting test problems, supporting car‑borne and wayside test planning, and delivering technical support for operational matters. Collaboration across departments and promotion of customer relations are integral. • Support on‑site installation and maintenance of CBTC and non‑CBTC wayside equipment. • Perform field modifications, troubleshooting, and repair of train control systems. • Assist in planning and executing car‑borne and wayside test activities. • Generate informal and formal test reports documenting findings. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams throughout integration, commissioning, and support phases. • Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders to uphold company credibility. • Analyze data and design documents to investigate system anomalies. • Apply critical‑thinking to interpret data trends and improve processes.

What You Bring
Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science or a related discipline, possess strong organizational and communication skills, fluency in English, and the ability to analyze data trends and improve processes. Flexibility to work 40 hours weekly in a hybrid setting and adapt to changing project locations is essential. Prior field experience in rail‑transit installation, testing, or support and direct customer interaction are highly desirable. The position may require moving in field environments, boarding trains, and reading instrumentation while wearing appropriate safety gear. • Pursue a bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer Science or related field. • Demonstrate strong organizational, verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills. • Flexibly work 40 hours per week in a hybrid environment, adapting to varying project sites. • Preferred: prior rail‑transit field experience and direct customer interaction.

Benefits
The Field Test Engineering Intern role runs from June to August 2026 (three months) at 270 Madison Ave, New York, with a 40‑hour work week, hybrid schedule, and hourly pay of $23‑30. Two vacancies are available.
