About the Role
The Class A Lineman role involves constructing, maintaining, and repairing overhead electrical distribution systems for Pike Electric. Employees work at multiple job sites, may travel across states, and must adhere to strict safety standards while handling energized and de‑energized equipment. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized overhead work safely. • Lead crew members in the foreman's absence. • String overhead wire. • Set poles and anchors. • Install transformers, lightning arrestors, cutouts, crossarms, insulators, switches, and switchgear. • Troubleshoot primary and secondary systems. • Replace cutout fuses and clear faulted circuits. • Work with high‑voltage energized systems, protecting lives. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools. • Work at heights and confined spaces; install and remove PPE. • Climb various structures (wood, steel) with appropriate tools. • Phase out lines using phasing sticks. • Plan safe work from job prints or work orders. • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings. • Safely perform reconductoring jobs. • Work live high‑voltage distribution lines with gloves. • Install and remove mechanical jumpers safely. • Use a load bust tool. • Travel long distances on short notice as needed. • Work extended periods at various locations. • Lift over 50 lb and inspect rubber goods and PPE. • Regularly talk/hear, stand, walk, use hands, and reach with arms. • Follow company safety rules and all other company policies.

What You Bring
• Perform rigorous physical labor and identify primary/secondary voltage. • Understand induced voltage and grounding procedures. • Work outdoors, often in inclement weather. • Minimum five years of recent field experience. • Read and communicate effectively in English. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days (CDL preferred). • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required. • Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving parts, vibration, loud noise, extreme conditions, and outdoor weather. • Exposure to construction site hazards, loud noise, and weather conditions. • Self‑motivated, team‑oriented, and customer‑oriented.
