About the Role
Our Defence and Security Division within the Australian business is seeking multiple Senior Project Manager / Project Manager roles to support major multidisciplinary design projects for new‑build infrastructure in Adelaide. The position will support delivery of complex multi‑disciplinary projects in maritime, civil infrastructure and specialist services on heavily regulated sites, and will be based in our Adelaide office with possible client‑site placement in the CBD. The role also involves improving project‑management processes to drive delivery excellence and efficiency. • Support delivery of complex project scopes on schedule, within budget, and to high quality standards in a heavily regulated Defence/Nuclear environment. • Adhere to Mott MacDonald’s global standards, assess risks, implement mitigations and balance Health, Safety and Welfare. • Support client engagements and stakeholder communication at senior levels. • Foster collaboration across internal project teams and delivery partners. • Proactively manage issues, drive decision making and support resolution pathways. • Evaluate and mitigate risks for Defence clients. • Lead and support technical and quality assurance activities related to design and safety analysis of nuclear infrastructure. • Contribute to developing nuclear sovereign skills in Australia, working with the global nuclear practice and upskilling efforts. • Mentor staff to develop knowledge and experience in delivery of major infrastructure projects.

What You Bring
• 8+ years experience delivering Defence or other heavily regulated infrastructure projects (services, civil or maritime). • Relevant tertiary qualifications in project management or engineering. • Experience in civil or naval nuclear programs, radiopharmaceuticals, oil and gas, rail or other high‑hazard industries. • Chartered Engineer or Project Manager status (preferred). • Understanding of major infrastructure programme delivery across the full lifecycle. • Current Australian security clearance or eligibility to obtain one. • Knowledge of nuclear safety cases or similar regulated industries. • Excellent written and verbal communication, risk‑mitigation expertise, and proven experience in project organisation, issue management, scope change and client expectation management.
