About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once legal load capacity is reached. Commercial drivers provide pick‑up service for containers that can exceed 1,000 lb and often require precise backing maneuvers. Residential drivers collect household waste in neighborhoods, while roll‑off drivers load and haul large open‑top or compactor containers from customer sites, navigating tight industrial routes and overhead constraints. • Operate vehicle following WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Conduct pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe situations, service issues, incidents, accidents, injuries, and property damage to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend scheduled training, briefings, and meetings as required. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Notify management of service interruptions such as closed streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards. • Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Dump all receptacles and leave the site clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork and check‑out procedures. • Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs. • Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.

What You Bring
The position may require travel by air, so candidates must possess a REAL ID or an acceptable TSA‑approved alternative, or be willing to obtain one. • Minimum 1 year operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the last 7 years. • At least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the country of employment. • Hold a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License with an air‑brake endorsement. • Preferred: High School Diploma or GED.
