About the Role

• Serve as a project and technical manager for stormwater planning, design, and implementation projects. • Lead preparation of project proposals and agreements. • Lead multidisciplinary teams in preparing design and construction drawings and documents, including cost estimates, for stormwater infrastructure projects and nature‑based solutions. • Provide technical direction, oversight, and quality review of project deliverables in line with AECOM standards. • Prepare, review, and seal design documents as a licensed professional engineer in Virginia. • Provide bid and construction phase services for a variety of clients. • Organize and lead routine project communications with clients through in‑person and virtual meetings. • Maintain existing client relationships and contracts through successful project delivery. • Develop new client relationships and lead business development efforts in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina. • Contribute to statements of qualifications (SOQs) and proposals in response to RFQs and RFPs. • Attend and facilitate client meetings and coordinate with regulatory agencies. • Coordinate and provide direction to AECOM project team members and subcontractors as needed. • Participate in local and regional water resources organizations, presenting at technical conferences on behalf of AECOM.

What You Bring

We are seeking a creative and highly talented engineer and project manager to lead water resources, stormwater, and natural resources projects from our Arlington, VA office. The role requires experience with municipal, state, and federal stormwater programs, as well as planning, design, and implementation of water resources solutions. The successful candidate will manage technical aspects of civil and water resources projects for federal, state, municipal, and private clients while mentoring mid‑ and junior‑level staff. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in civil, environmental, or related engineering and have at least eight years of relevant experience, a Virginia professional engineering license (or ability to obtain it within six months), and proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam. U.S. citizenship, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to pass a motor‑vehicle records review are required. Preferred qualifications include ten‑plus years of progressive engineering experience, two years in project‑manager capacity, demonstrated business‑development skills, and expertise in green stormwater infrastructure, watershed modeling, and regulatory permitting. • Travel locally within Virginia and occasionally beyond the local area as required.
