Nova Scotia Power’s Vegetation Management department is hiring a temporary full‑time Forestry Co‑op Student for the May‑September 2026 term in Halifax. The role reports to the Senior Forester and supports the Transmission Vegetation Management Program across the province. The position is field‑based, requiring a flexible schedule that includes travel, weekend work, and adherence to occupational health and safety regulations to protect both personal and coworker safety. Candidates should be enrolled in a forestry or related technical program and possess a valid Nova Scotia driver’s licence with at least two years of driving experience. Strong interpersonal, listening, and communication abilities are essential, as is the capacity to handle difficult customer situations and maintain high service standards under pressure. Applicants must be able to work with minimal supervision, demonstrate thorough knowledge of company policies, and perform tasks safely and efficiently. Proficiency with GIS and ESRI mobile tools is required, and candidates should present themselves professionally and meet the physical demands of the job. • Hold an NS Herbicide Applicator License (asset). • Experience using ESRI Field Maps (asset).
