About the Role
Drivers at WM operate heavy-duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear-end lift attachments to transport waste, recyclables, and large containers to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. The role includes commercial, residential, and roll-off drivers who must navigate congested roads, alleys, driveways, and tight industrial environments, and perform skilled backing maneuvers to safely pick up and deliver containers often exceeding 1,000 lb. • Operate vehicle according to WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, injuries, or property damage to Operations Manager or Dispatch immediately. • Attend all mandatory training programs, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and share best practices. • Notify Operations Manager of service interruptions such as closed streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards. • Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Dump all receptacles and leave the customer site clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end-of-day documentation and check-out procedures. • Perform duties as scheduled and assist other drivers to meet customer needs.

The position requires frequent physical activity such as standing, walking, lifting, and maneuvering equipment, as well as the ability to crouch, reach, and handle various items while maintaining clear communication and hearing capabilities.
