About the Role
Drivers collaborate with Operations Managers to enhance route efficiency, convey customer requests, ensure clean dump sites, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and support fellow drivers when needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste and recyclables to disposal or recycling facilities. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Follow WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations while driving. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch immediately. • Participate in required training programs, briefings, and meetings to maintain safety and operational standards. • Collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency and adopt best practices. • Communicate customer requests and ensure dump sites are left clean and free of debris. • Complete end‑of‑day documentation, check‑out procedures, and assist other drivers as needed. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, crouching, and maneuvering heavy containers.

What You Bring
The role involves moving large waste containers using trucks equipped with various lift mechanisms, and requires skilled maneuvering in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. All drivers must adhere to WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable regulations, perform thorough vehicle inspections, report hazards promptly, and participate in required training and briefings. To qualify, candidates need a valid Class A or B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement, at least one year of relevant driving experience (or recent military driving), be 18 or older, and have legal work eligibility; a high school diploma or GED is preferred.
