About the Role
As a General Operative you will work on the SHDF retrofit programme for social housing, providing front‑facing support and advice while keeping the customer at the heart of every interaction. You will collaborate with local teams to ensure stable, profitable contracts and deliver excellent service throughout the project lifecycle. Your day‑to‑day duties include preparing and cleaning the site office, removing waste, handling and transporting materials safely, and supporting skilled tradespeople with retrofit activities. You will also carry out minor repairs, ensure health and safety compliance, maintain high work quality, report any issues promptly, and take ownership of tasks to meet deadlines while delivering first‑time completion within budget. • Prepare and clean the site office • Remove waste from the site • Handle and transport materials safely and efficiently • Support skilled tradespeople in retrofit activities • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations • Maintain high standards of work quality and attention to detail • Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines • Report any issues or concerns to the site supervisor promptly • Participate in site meetings and provide input on improvements • Take initiative and ownership of allocated tasks • Provide high levels of customer care at all times • Work safely at heights when required

What You Bring
The role requires proven experience in the listed duties, a full UK driving licence, the physical ability to perform manual labour such as lifting and repetitive tasks, knowledge of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit standards and asbestos awareness training. • Demonstrated experience in the above duties • Full UK driving licence • Ability to perform manual labour (lifting, standing, bending, repetitive tasks) • Knowledge of PAS 2035 domestic retrofit standards • Asbestos awareness training

The role offers a salary of up to £29,488.20 per annum, a company van and fuel card, and a 42.5‑hour work week from Monday to Friday.
