About the Role

The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for estimating, scheduling, procurement, and project management of master service agreements and site‑specific projects for transmission across Pike Electric’s diverse customer base. The PM establishes and maintains positive customer relationships while supplying field operations with contractual information needed to perform work safely, cost‑effectively, and on time. The role requires advanced skill development and the ability to work independently. Under minimal supervision the PM manages projects and master service agreements in line with Pike policies, oversees client relationships, conducts contract negotiations, change‑order identification, submittals, approvals, and manages subcontractors and material procurement. The PM implements change‑control and risk‑management processes, prepares estimates and proposals, leads contractual meetings, provides performance feedback, and reports contract status to field operations, management, and customers. Financial responsibilities include accurate monthly financial reporting with appropriate backup for internal, external, and SOX requirements, enforcing financial controls to ensure profitability and cash flow, and managing invoice issuance and payment. The PM also supports emergency and storm restoration events and adheres to EH&S and Quality programs when applicable. • Manage projects and master service agreements per Pike policies and procedures. • Maintain effective client relationships and serve as trusted liaison. • Negotiate contracts, identify change orders, handle submittals, approvals, and oversee subcontractors and material procurement. • Implement change‑control and risk‑management processes. • Prepare thorough estimates and proposals for site‑specific projects and master service agreements. • Lead contractual meetings such as kickoffs, progress, and safety sessions. • Provide performance feedback to operations and field management. • Generate contract status reports for field teams, management, and customers. • Produce accurate monthly financial reports with supporting documentation for internal, external, and SOX compliance. • Enforce financial controls to protect profitability and cash flow. • Manage invoice issuance and ensure timely payments. • Support emergency and storm restoration efforts. • Apply EH&S and Quality programs as required. • Build and sustain internal and external relationships, navigating organizational barriers. • Lead and influence others within a matrix organization. • Adhere to company safety rules and policies.

What You Bring

A four‑year college degree preferably in engineering or construction management and 3‑5 years of project‑management experience in transmission construction are required. Candidates must possess detailed knowledge of project‑management fundamentals, proficiency with MS Office (MS Project/Primavera a plus), strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast‑paced, ambiguous environment with a bias for action. Additional expectations include relationship‑building, high commitment to goals, organizational and time‑management skills, negotiation and decision‑making abilities, and familiarity with project accounting, contract pricing mechanisms, and matrix‑organization leadership. The role regularly requires talking, hearing, standing, walking, and the use of hands. The employee works in typical office conditions but may encounter fumes, dust, odors, or poor ventilation.
