Program Leader, Environmental Fate and Remediation (US KC-Site)

About the Role

The Program Leader, Environmental Fate and Remediation will provide strategic leadership and subject‑matter expertise to assess, manage, and mitigate environmental risks associated with materials, chemicals, and components across the lifecycle of Kimberly‑Clark’s product systems. In this role you will develop and implement strategies to analyze the environmental fate of materials, manage risks related to restricted and emerging substances, and oversee site remediation and long‑term care programs while ensuring compliance with regulations and internal standards. You will collaborate closely with R&D, Product Stewardship, Quality, Legal, and Supply Chain teams to embed environmental considerations into product design, drive continuous improvement, and support product development and compliance objectives. • Lead assessment and strategy for environmental fate of materials, chemicals, components, and packaging. • Develop and deploy business processes and controls to manage environmental risks aligned with sustainability goals and regulations. • Integrate environmental fate considerations into product design through collaboration with R&D and Product Stewardship. • Identify, evaluate, and manage risks from restricted and emerging substances throughout the product lifecycle. • Monitor evolving environmental regulations and ensure compliance with internal standards and governance frameworks. • Lead incident response, audits, investigations, and remediation planning for substance‑related issues. • Oversee site remediation and long‑term care programs, develop remediation strategies, and approve action plans. • Provide technical expertise and problem‑solving support for remediation projects and stakeholder engagement. • Develop and maintain governance frameworks, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Prepare and deliver communications, reporting, and stakeholder updates to senior leadership, regulators, and external partners. • Represent Kimberly‑Clark in external engagements with suppliers, NGOs, and certifiers. • Foster cross‑functional collaboration and build capability through training programs on environmental fate, remediation, and compliance.

What You Bring

Required qualifications include an advanced degree in environmental science, engineering or a related field (PhD preferred), at least ten years of relevant experience, deep knowledge of environmental fate and remediation frameworks, and proven leadership of cross‑functional teams. Key skills encompass risk assessment, regulatory compliance, incident response, stakeholder engagement, strategic thinking, strong analytical ability, and excellent communication and influencing capabilities. • Hold an advanced degree in environmental science, engineering, chemistry or related field (PhD preferred). • Possess 10+ years of experience in environmental fate, transport assessment, remediation, or product stewardship in a global organization. • Demonstrate deep knowledge of regulatory standards, risk assessment, compliance, and incident response. • Exhibit strong analytical, strategic thinking, and problem‑solving skills. • Possess excellent communication and influencing abilities across matrixed teams. • Experience developing and delivering training and supporting governance initiatives. • Willingness to stay current on emerging environmental and regulatory issues and travel up to 30 % as needed.
