The role leads design development for new product introduction, generating complete design documentation packages and managing design release control. The Sr. Product Design Engineer works with design and manufacturing teams to control current products and introduce new ones for production. This position collaborates with other departments, vendors, and customers to develop power generation systems, evaluates engineering designs, and establishes standards to improve robust development processes. It also ensures design compliance within technical specifications and supports first‑time assembly builds. • Lead power generation system development by collaborating with departments, vendors, and customers. • Develop and evaluate engineering designs and subsystems following standard engineering principles. • Act as primary contact for project managers and lead engineer activities. • Create and maintain complete design documentation, including drawings, parametric models, standards, and specifications. • Ensure design accuracy, GD&T compliance, and adherence to manufacturing requirements. • Calculate and size components for system optimization and plan complex test programs. • Release parts and subsystems for production and develop assembly drawings for new BOM creation. • Provide input on new product design, ensure compliance with technical specifications, and support first‑time assembly builds. • Promote a compliance culture and adhere to the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct.

What You Bring
Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Application, or Automotive Engineering and at least five years of relevant engineering experience (or nine years without a degree) in the large‑equipment industry is required. Preferred experience includes 3‑5 years in the power generation industry and strong proficiency with 3D CAD, GD&T, and structural analysis. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Application, or Automotive Engineering with 5 years experience (or 9 years without degree) in large‑equipment industry. • 3‑5 years experience in power generation industry (preferred). • Proficient in 3D CAD, manual drafting, GD&T, and structural analysis. • Strong knowledge of design development, test engineering, manufacturing, and assembly processes. • Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. • Proficient with PC and Microsoft Office Suite.

Benefits
The position is based in Mankato, MN with an annual salary range of $94,160 – $153,010. Benefits include a competitive total rewards package with a discretionary bonus, health, dental, vision, retirement, paid time off, parental leave, tuition reimbursement, and long‑term incentives. Additional offerings may vary based on eligibility and employment type.
