About the Role

The Specialist will apply core sourcing knowledge, interpret engineering drawings, and lead cost‑reduction initiatives such as RFQs, should‑cost analysis, and negotiations. Responsibilities include analyzing total cost of ownership, collaborating with engineering on new product development and VA/VE projects, and leveraging spend data to generate actionable insights. Technical competencies required include open‑book costing, zero‑based costing for sheet‑metal, motors, copper fabrication, welding and brazing assemblies, and the ability to identify cost‑improvement opportunities. The role also involves preparing cost‑comparison charts, applying VAVE expertise, and supporting raw‑material substitution strategies. Within the Global Supply Chain Center of Excellence, the Specialist will focus on should‑costing and tear‑down analysis for fabrication categories such as steel, copper, aluminium, and assemblies, while coordinating with Global Engineering and Sourcing teams to achieve cost reductions and manage project timelines.

What You Bring

Effective stakeholder and people management is essential; the Specialist must work cross‑functionally with other Carrier entities, drive alignment through communication, and facilitate key meetings and steering sessions. Self‑direction, motivation, and collaboration are critical for successful project execution. • B.E. Mechanical from a premier institute (MBA preferred) • 4-6 years of supply chain management experience, exposure to CoE environment essential • Strong sourcing knowledge • Ability to work in a global environment with stakeholders across multiple countries • Strategic thinking and ability to independently define priorities • Experience working in a global company environment • Project management experience • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
