About the Role

The Associate Director – Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor will lead cost management for a large‑scale, mission‑critical data centre programme. This client‑facing leadership role requires strategic direction, strong stakeholder influence and the promotion of Turner & Townsend’s purpose, values and vision. • Lead end‑to‑end cost management across all phases of the data centre programme, aligning scope, budget and schedule. • Develop and maintain detailed cost plans, estimates and forecasts using industry benchmarks and technical documents. • Manage change control by reviewing, negotiating and tracking change orders and post‑contract variances. • Oversee contractor and subcontractor pricing reviews, validate scope and advise on procurement strategies. • Integrate cost forecasts with project schedules in collaboration with scheduling teams. • Produce monthly commercial status reports, executive summaries and financial updates for stakeholders. • Conduct cost risk analysis, scenario planning and sensitivity testing while monitoring market trends. • Identify and implement cost optimisation and value‑engineering opportunities to reduce lifecycle costs. • Set, monitor and report on KPIs and critical success factors, presenting findings to senior leadership. • Maintain financial performance using internal systems, tracking margins, forecasts and reporting through BMS. • Mentor junior staff, conduct performance reviews and foster a high‑performance, collaborative team culture. • Act as a brand ambassador by building market knowledge, generating pipeline opportunities and supporting RFP responses.

What You Bring

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Engineering or a related field (a graduate degree is a plus) and bring 8‑10+ years of cost management or project‑controls experience on complex construction projects. Desired credentials include RICS accreditation, deep MEP knowledge and proficiency with CostX, Oracle, Excel and Primavera.
