About the Role
The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services, following established standards, instructions, and procedures. Typical duties include sweeping, mopping, and washing floors; using light and heavy commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines; vacuuming rugs in offices and public areas; spot‑cleaning and shampooing rugs as directed; and dusting furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting. The role also involves washing windowsills, interior glass, doors, partitions, and specified windows, as well as cleaning glass and trim at entrance doors and spot‑cleaning interior walls daily. Bathrooms are cleaned and restocked daily, with tasks such as damp‑wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping, mopping, or scrubbing floors while monitoring for defects like clogged urinals or non‑functioning lights. The custodian collects building trash daily, places it in approved containers, moves it to designated collection areas, replaces liners per specifications, and sweeps or shovels snow from steps and walkways as directed. Periodic work includes high dusting, leather and wood surface polishing, wall washing, and any other duties assigned. • Sweep, mop, and wash floors; operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines. • Vacuum rugs, spot‑clean daily, and shampoo rugs as directed. • Dust and clean furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, and light fixtures; perform periodic high dusting. • Wash windowsills, interior glass, doors, partitions, and entrance glass/trim. • Clean and restock bathrooms daily, service fixtures, wipe surfaces, and monitor for defects. • Collect and dispose of building trash, replace liners, and manage snow removal from entrances and walkways. • Perform periodic tasks such as high dusting, leather and wood polishing, and wall washing. • Operate cleaning equipment, including backpack‑style portable vacuums. • Maintain attention to detail, organization, high energy, and endurance.
