About the Role

• Report to work on time as scheduled by supervisor. • Repair and overhaul compressors, water pumps, air handlers, and related electrical/mechanical control devices. • Test malfunctioning systems and components using electrical and/or mechanical skills. • Maintain legible corporate and personal work history records. • Provide general repair on HVAC and refrigeration equipment such as AC units, condensers, ice machines, water pumps, gas furnaces, compressors, and electric motors. • Perform preventative maintenance and diagnose equipment malfunctions and efficiency issues. • Assist with minor construction, remodeling, and startup of new installations. • Demonstrate proper use of PPE and safety equipment. • Set up LPC as primary temperature control and pump‑down safety control. • Determine superheat and set expansion valve superheat. • Verify functional defrost termination. • Perform preventative maintenance on HVAC systems. • Properly recover refrigerant from refrigeration systems. • Change oil in a vacuum pump. • Hook up a gauge set for evacuation. • Follow all company policies, procedures, and applicable laws.

Applicants must hold a valid driver’s license, have a good driving record, and be able to meet the physical demands of the role. • High school diploma or GED, equivalent work experience, and trade or technical school classes. • Valid EPA certification. • 3‑5 years experience in commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical. • Basic knowledge of refrigeration, HVAC, ice machines, gas furnaces, and electrical systems. • Experience with refrigeration equipment in convenience stores or supermarkets (strong plus). • Familiarity with single‑phase and rack systems, display cases, and walk‑in boxes. • Knowledge of single‑phase compressor and motor control circuit components. • Ability to use an ohmmeter. • Ability to verify capacitor condition. • Understanding of defrost circuits. • Knowledge of schematics and wiring diagrams. • Ability to identify and explain refrigeration component functions. • Ability to properly leak‑check a single‑compressor system. • Knowledge of gas furnace component functions and safety precautions. • Understand reporting procedures for large refrigerant releases. • Possess level‑2 experience/information. • Lift up to 60 lb unassisted and sit/stand for several hours. • Valid driver’s license with good driving record. • Use typical business tools including email, Word, and Excel.
