About the Role

As Head of Privacy, AI and Technology Law – Americas, you will shape WSP’s navigation of complex AI, technology and privacy landscapes across the United States, Canada, and Latin America & the Caribbean. Reporting to the Chief Privacy, AI and Data Responsibility Officer, you will oversee implementation of global privacy and AI programs in the region and provide strategic legal support for the development, commercialization, and procurement of digital solutions that drive WSP’s impact. • Act as primary point of contact and trusted advisor on AI, IT, privacy and data law matters across the Americas. • Supervise local Privacy & Responsible AI representatives to ensure cohesive, high‑quality program delivery. • Implement global policies and procedures, adapting them to U.S., Canadian and Latin American & Caribbean regulations. • Advise on “compliance by design” for technology solutions, embedding privacy, AI and data protection requirements. • Collaborate with Legal, IT, Information Security, Procurement, Marketing & Communications, and Ethics & Compliance to manage legal risks. • Conduct privacy impact assessments and AI risk assessments, recommending mitigation strategies. • Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments in the Americas, providing actionable guidance. • Serve as primary contact with data protection authorities and regulators, supporting incident response and reporting. • Negotiate commercial IT, data protection and AI‑related clauses in agreements and support M&A due diligence. • Develop and deliver training programs to raise privacy, AI and data law awareness across the Americas. • Advised multinational organizations on global AI, IT, privacy and data protection matters at executive level.

What You Bring

WSP welcomes applications from people with disabilities and provides accommodations throughout the selection process, while committing to employment equity and equal opportunity. • Active member of a U.S. and a Canadian bar; membership in a Latin American bar is an asset. • At least 10 years of law practice focused on commercial IT and privacy across the Americas. • Direct experience with CCPA, PIPEDA, Law 25, Brazil’s LGPD and other regional privacy regulations. • Strong analytical skills delivering practical, business‑oriented solutions in high‑risk environments. • Team‑oriented leader capable of persuading, influencing and guiding stakeholders across regions and functions. • Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment, and anticipate needs proactively. • Hold a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US or CIPP/C) designation. • Bilingual in English and French; Spanish and/or Portuguese considered an asset.

Base salaries vary by province, ranging from $175,800 to $257,900, with final offers adjusted for education, experience, certifications, seniority, location and business needs.
