About the Role

The role involves leading design and analysis of complex electrical systems, reviewing and developing design documents such as layouts, schematics, calculations and one‑line diagrams, and preparing specifications, cost estimates, and proposals to grow the electrical engineering service area. Daily collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across Kimley‑Horn offices and coordination with architects and other engineers are essential. • Expand the MEP team by providing HVAC design services. • Lead design and analysis of complex electrical systems for MEP projects. • Review and develop design documents, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics, block diagrams, system calculations, and one‑line diagrams. • Collaborate daily with multidisciplinary teams across Kimley‑Horn offices. • Prepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals to support service growth. • Coordinate with architects and mechanical/plumbing engineers to determine equipment power needs and size electrical distribution. • Provide vision, business planning, strategy, and goal setting while maintaining positive client relationships. • Operate with integrity, communicate openly with partners and team members, and grow the MEP practice. • Manage projects profitably, transition work to qualified staff, and mentor team members.

What You Bring

Candidates must have 10+ years of electrical project management experience, a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, and deep knowledge of the NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards. Strong communication, staff mentorship, and a track record of profitable project delivery are required. • Possess 10+ years of electrical project management experience and a PE license. • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of NEC, NESC, IEEE, and ANSI standards. • Effectively communicate positively at all organizational levels and manage resources in a supportive manner.
