What You Bring
A Driver Trainee will be trained by Republic Services to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) and, upon successful completion, transition into a Driver role within one of the Company’s lines of business, such as Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll‑Off. The trainee must successfully complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, which includes classroom study, on‑route training, hands‑on driving experience, and the use of a loaned truck, then pass the state CDL examination. After obtaining the CDL, the incumbent is required to remain employed for a full twelve months and will learn to perform comprehensive pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections, safely operate a heavy truck along designated routes, load and unload refuse, monitor waste for compliance, and keep the vehicle clean and operational at all times while adhering to all safety policies.
