About the Role

The role supports directional drilling for the installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable. The operator locates the drill, operates the horizontal bore in partnership with the Drill Locator, ensures the safety of the public and existing underground utilities, reads utility locates and coordinates daylighting, and transports heavy equipment to and from the job site each day. • Locate and set up horizontal directional drill for underground conduit and fiber optic installation • Operate horizontal directional bore in coordination with the Drill Locator • Ensure public safety and protect existing underground utilities • Read utility locates and coordinate daylighting of underground facilities • Transport heavy equipment to and from job sites daily • Maintain a safety‑focused mindset and deliver high‑quality work • Solve complex problems with a hands‑on approach • Operate Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills of various sizes • Read and interpret project maps, drawings, and diagrams

What You Bring

Candidates must prioritize safety, deliver high‑quality work, and enjoy solving complex problems with a hands‑on approach. Required qualifications include at least two years of urban utility directional drilling experience, familiarity with Vermeer or Ditch Witch drills, the ability to read maps, drawings, and diagrams, and a valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record.
