About the Role
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer on our Buildings team, you will shape the world around you by applying technical expertise to building systems projects that enhance comfort, sustainability, and performance for communities. You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver innovative mechanical designs that meet client objectives and advance low‑carbon, future‑ready infrastructure. In this role you will lead mechanical design delivery from concept through construction, ensure coordination across disciplines, and mentor junior staff to strengthen team capability. You will leverage internal experts such as the Decarbonization Team and Digital Solutions Group, and use industry‑leading software like Revit to produce accurate models, calculations, and documentation. • Lead mechanical design from concept through construction, ensuring technical excellence and coordination. • Mentor and support junior and intermediate mechanical staff to build team capability. • Integrate innovative solutions using WSP’s Decarbonization Team and Digital Solutions Group. • Produce high‑quality models, calculations, and documentation with Revit and other engineering software. • Contribute to client proposals, presentations, and long‑term business development activities. • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to meet deliverables and financial targets. • Apply NBC, ASHRAE, NFPA and other codes to deliver safe, compliant, low‑carbon solutions.

What You Bring
Success requires strong leadership and collaboration skills, a Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited institution, and registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with a Canadian regulator. You must have hands‑on experience with Revit and mechanical design tools, be proficient with MS Office, and be familiar with codes such as NBC, ASHRAE, and NFPA. Working across integrated, multidisciplinary teams and solving complex design challenges is essential. We value health, safety, and the environment, requiring compliance with WSP’s HSE policy and client HSE policies. Safety‑sensitive positions require the ability to perform key physical tasks, including work in remote or inclement conditions, within safe limits. • Hold a Mechanical Engineering degree and be a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in Canada. • Demonstrate strong hands‑on Revit and mechanical design tool experience. • Proficient in MS Office and skilled at producing clear engineering documentation. • Thrive in multidisciplinary teams and solve complex design coordination challenges.
