About the Role
• Work safely on new construction, maintenance, or repair of both energized and de‑energized transmission systems. • String overhead wire. • Set poles and anchors. • Troubleshoot transmission system problems. • Handle energized high‑voltage systems with skill to protect lives. • Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools. • Identify primary and secondary transmission voltages on circuits. • Ensure proper line clearances and identify wire sizes. • Execute heavy lifting and rigging safely. • Set poles safely and operate wire tensioner equipment. • Change pole framing and insulators on energized lines using hooks or a bucket. • Operate sideloader, bucket, and derrick equipment. • Read and interpret blueprints. • Set up equipment and grounding procedures. • Install and remove PPE and cover‑ups correctly. • Check voltage on transformers. • Clip in transmission conductors. • Climb various structures (wood, steel, etc.) using appropriate tools. • Phase out lines using phasing sticks. • Observe minimum approach distances, flag, and tag procedures. • Conduct pre‑job or tailgate briefings effectively. • Install and remove mechanical jumpers safely. • Inspect rubber goods, covers, and PPE properly. • Travel long distances on short notice when required. • Work extended periods at various locations as needed. • Inspect rubber goods and PPE accurately.

What You Bring
The Class B Lineman Transmission is a semi‑skilled role focused on construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems. Work locations vary and may require travel to other states based on customer demands. Physical demands include regular talking, hearing, standing, walking, using hands and arms, and lifting over 50 lbs. Employees must be able to perform rigorous physical labor and work outdoors in inclement weather. • Be familiar with induced voltage and grounding concepts. • Use phasing sticks correctly. • Obtain knowledge of bare‑hand work at 44 kV and 100 kV. • Climb poles and towers proficiently. • Apply grounding techniques effectively. • Work at heights and in confined spaces. • Perform basic bucket rescue/escape techniques. • Work outdoors frequently in inclement weather. • Three years of field experience required. • Read and communicate effectively in English. • Obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days of hire; CDL preferred. • Lift over 50 lbs. • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and high‑voltage line tasks.
