About the Role
• Develop and execute roadway design projects including geometry, drainage, and pavement. • Create Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) plans to maintain safe traffic flow during construction. • Collaborate with regional teams on highway and bridge infrastructure for diverse clients. • Perform engineering calculations and analyses to ensure compliance with standards. • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects. • Conduct site visits and field investigations to gather data and assess conditions. • Coordinate with architects, environmental specialists, and construction managers. • Assist in preparing proposals, reports, and technical presentations for stakeholders. • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on project tasks. • Ensure quality control while adhering to project schedules and budgets. • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices. • Participate in public meetings and stakeholder consultations to present project information. • Help obtain necessary permits and approvals from regulatory agencies. • Contribute to continuous improvement of engineering processes and methodologies.

What You Bring
The New England Transportation group is looking for an experienced civil engineer to lead roadway and highway design projects. The role involves geometric design, drainage, pavement design, and the development of Maintenance of Traffic plans, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across multiple state, local, and municipal clients. Candidates must hold a BA/BS in civil engineering (or equivalent) with at least four years of relevant experience, a PE license in Massachusetts (or reciprocity within six months), and U.S. citizenship. Preferred qualifications include six years of roadway design experience, proficiency with OpenRoads or Civil 3D, strong independent judgment, and excellent communication skills. • Minimum: BA/BS in Civil Engineering and 4+ years experience; PE license in MA; US citizenship. • Preferred: 6+ years roadway design experience; proficiency with OpenRoads or Civil 3D; strong judgment and communication skills.
