About the Role
The Transport Senior Executive is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing comprehensive transportation operations, optimizing logistics networks, and driving operational excellence while ensuring regulatory compliance and cost efficiency. Reporting to the Manager Transport, the role is based onsite in Pune, MH, with a 48‑hour weekly schedule, and includes managing day‑to‑day transport across inbound/outbound logistics, fleet management, control centers, and coordination with warehouses, production and customer service. • Develop and implement transportation strategies aligned with organizational goals and market demand. • Analyze networks to optimize routes, modal selection, and capacity utilization. • Lead expansion initiatives, new market entry, and operational consolidation. • Oversee daily inbound/outbound logistics, fleet acquisition, maintenance, and utilization. • Manage transportation control centers, dispatch, and real‑time monitoring systems. • Establish performance metrics, conduct reviews, and create cross‑training and succession plans. • Build and maintain strategic relationships with carriers and third‑party logistics providers. • Negotiate contracts, evaluate carrier performance, and drive continuous improvement. • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, OSHA, and other transport regulations. • Administer insurance, claims, risk mitigation, driver qualification, and inspection programs. • Implement and optimize TMS, fleet management software, telematics, GPS, and ELD solutions. • Lead digital transformation to enhance visibility, customer communication, and data‑driven decisions. • Report to Manager Transport and coordinate with sales, customer service, and operations teams.

What You Bring
Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree and possess 7‑10 years of progressive transportation experience, advanced knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, OSHA regulations, and proficiency with TMS, fleet software, and analytics tools. Experience in manufacturing, retail, automotive, or chemicals, plus exposure to union environments, sustainability initiatives, and emerging technologies is valued. • Meet or exceed KPIs: >95% on‑time delivery, cost‑per‑mile targets, >85% fleet utilization, low accident rates.
