About the Role

In this position you will design and configure complex HVAC and building automation systems according to project specifications, develop flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics, and create software programs to meet performance requirements. You will produce accurate drawings and equipment schedules, manage material ordering, coordinate factory‑mounted equipment, and support commissioning and troubleshooting to ensure systems function as intended. Additionally, you will provide documentation, as‑built drawings, field change information, and training to owners and operators, while performing value engineering and guiding design assistants. • Design and configure technically complex HVAC and building control systems. • Develop flow diagrams, sequences of operation, bills of material, network layouts, and electrical schematics. • Create and test software programs to meet system performance requirements. • Produce accurate drawings and equipment schedules for submittals and installation. • Select, order, and track materials; coordinate factory‑mounted equipment with project schedules. • Assist with loading, commissioning, and validation of system and network‑level controllers. • Troubleshoot system issues with subcontractors and other trades. • Provide documentation, as‑built drawings, and field change information. • Support owner/operator training on building control systems. • Perform value engineering to deliver cost‑effective solutions without compromising quality. • Guide Systems Design Assistants and ensure strict adherence to safety standards.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering and has at least three years of relevant experience in the HVAC or construction industry. A solid understanding of control theory, building automation systems, low‑voltage subsystems, and integration protocols such as LON or BACnet is required, along with the ability to convey technical concepts to non‑technical audiences and proficiency in computer‑aided drafting tools. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering and at least 3 years of relevant experience. • Strong understanding of HVAC/construction industry and control theory. • Experience with building automation integration protocols such as LON or BACnet. • Ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with CAD tools.
