About the Role
The Senior Legal Counsel – Technology and Commercial role serves as a key strategic advisor at the intersection of digital, technology and indirect procurement. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, you will guide global teams on IT, commercial and data law matters, support the development and commercialization of digital solutions, and enable risk‑aware decisions that keep WSP at the forefront of innovation. • Act as primary point of contact for IT, commercial and data law matters, delivering timely, risk‑based advice. • Partner with the global digital team to support design, development and commercialization of digital solutions. • Advise on legal risks of internal and client‑facing digital services and implement practical mitigation strategies. • Draft, review, negotiate and oversee agreements with technology partners, clients and global suppliers. • Provide end‑to‑end legal guidance to the Indirect Procurement team on complex global IT and non‑IT agreements. • Develop and implement standard terms, templates, playbooks and guidance to enable self‑serve contracting. • Advise on compliance requirements, including “compliance by design,” in collaboration with Procurement, IT, Information Security, Marketing & Communications, and Ethics & Compliance. • Contribute to contract lifecycle management tool implementation, including workflows, SOPs and review processes. • Support corporate governance, policy development, IP protection and training initiatives related to technology, commercial and data law. • Apply a risk‑based, commercial and pragmatic approach to balance protection with business enablement. • Build strong relationships and influence stakeholders across all business functions and levels. • Drive process improvement and scaling through smart templates, guidance and tooling.

What You Bring
• Qualified lawyer in Québec or another relevant jurisdiction with a strong foundation in commercial IT law. • Minimum 10 years of legal practice experience, including technology, commercial and procurement work. • Possess strong drafting and analytical skills and navigate complex, high‑stakes negotiations. • Work confidently in ambiguity, self‑motivated and able to meet tight deadlines with limited supervision. • Bilingual in English and French to collaborate with national‑level stakeholders.
